Hana Holquist

Pennsylvania born Hana Holquist is a 2019 BA Graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York City. She was honored by being featured in CFDA's Fashion Future Graduate Showcase. She has always sought out extreme femininity in her life. The love of femininity has driven her to find spaces that are heavily influenced by the idea of female fantasy. Through working in multiple industries, she realized that men mostly create the feminine illusion. She wants to challenge the concept of the female muse and the male gaze by creating new codes of femininity that do not appeal to the male gaze. Hana is very interested in pushing the boundaries of feminism. And she believes that making clothes that people can wear is essential.

BA Graduate Collection

Hana is inspired by designers who are known for breaking convention and reinventing fashion such as The Blondes, Bcalla, and Bob Mackie. The process for each of her collections begins with a piece of fabric or trim that she likes. Hana's graduate collection exhibited elements of couture and avant-garde. The designs included tulle, illustrations by Hana throughout, opera length gloves, corsets, padded hip skirts, sheer coats, a skirt that has purses designed into the garment, asymmetrical skirts, and sheer tee shirts. The collection is elegant with a touch of camp, which made every design perfect.
