Victoria Hayes
SPRING 2020
There was an electricity in the air for the debut of Victoria Hayes' Spring/Summer 2020 Collection during the official New York Fashion Week Schedule. From the first thump of the music to Coco Rocha closing the show, Victoria Hayes and her team killed it. Inspired by the 90's movie Space Jam, she sent 44 designs of her luxurious twist on athletic wear, including her signature suiting, coats, and dresses down the runway.
I first became aware of Victoria's talent when I attended the 2018 BFA Graduate Exhibition at Parsons School of Design. She had graduated from Parsons in 2014 and had returned to present her Fall/Winter 2018-2019 Collection as a part of the alumni portion of the show. From there, I contacted her and have written to previous articles about her Art-Deco Miami Inspired Spring/Summer 2018 Collection and her Exploration of Sin inspired Fall/Winter 2019-2020 Collection.
Her incredible talent has been regarded and worn by an A-list group of celebrities including Kelly Osbourne, Rose McGowan, Lady Gaga, Dascha Polanco, Cardi B, Jennifer Hudson, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Katharine McPhee, Janelle Monae, and Taylor Swift.
And just when I thought she could not outdo her last collection, she did, with her Spring/Summer 2020 Collection. Each design had a very defined and feminine silhouette that included her skilled attention to detail. She layered and draped fabrics such as hand-painted prints, colorful silks, and reflective and clear vinyl into various ensembles.

Victoria and her team designed an athletic take on the signature bondage pant, made the cropped motorcycle jacket a must-have, gave us sexy skirts with thigh-high slits, iridescent jumpsuits, various styles of trenches, and stunning suits. The collection was a vibrant mix of colors such as marigold yellow, maroon, black, white, liquid silver, royal blue, and salmon pink, and every garment was adorned with opulent Swarovski crystals.
In addition to the primary collection, Victoria somehow found the time to add a few handbags and jaw-dropping Swarovski embellished silver chain necklaces and show-stopping earrings. Seeing the collection in its entirety, I can honestly say that Victoria Hayes and her team killed it for the Spring/Summer 2020 season.
